RENTON, Wash. — There was trouble at Wizards of the Coast on Saturday as Crackers, the company’s beloved pet chimp, pressed a “reprint” button over and over at the company’s headquarters.

The result was thousands and thousands of copies of cards such as Squire and War Barge being printed with Time Spiral logos on them, inadvertently stuffed into booster packs and shipped out.

“Uh oh! What has that zany monkey gotten into now?” said Mark Rosewater of Wizards of the Coast’s Research and Development team.

Crackers is technically an ape, although the company does not distinguish between the two. Other cards reprinted by the hilarious, wacky chimp include Sindbad, Darkness and Spitting Slug.

Rosewater said that he hoped that Crackers’ tenure at Wizards of the Coast would last longer than that of Bonkers, the previous company pet chimp.
